Former child star Emma Watson is making a great career for herself in adulthood.

Watson was just 11 years old when she appeared in the first Harry Potter movie. Now at age 27, she starred▼ in the 2017 live-action version of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. The movie turned out to be a smash hit, and Watson garnered▼ positive reviews for playing Belle. Prior to appearing in the Disney blockbuster▼, Watson earned the People's Choice Award for Favorite Dramatic Movie Actor for her role in the coming-of-age▼ movie, The Perks▼ of Being a Wallflower. Her own coming-of-age story would make for a good movie, too.
　　Watson was raised in Britain, but she was born on April 15, 1990, in Paris, France. Although Watson had studied acting, dancing, and singing in England, she had never acted in a professional capacity prior to auditioning▼ for the role of Hermione Granger. Watson appeared in all eight movies in the Harry Potter franchise▼, the last of which was released in 2011. At the age of 19, Watson also began a career as a model with a fashion label▼ called People Tree. Her modeling career got a big boost▼ when Burberry chose her to represent its collections in 2009 and 2010. For Watson, 2014 was another big year as she earned a degree in English from Brown University and was appointed to be a UN Women Goodwill▼ Ambassador▼. In that role, she advocates▼ for women's rights. Watson's ability to have a flourishing▼ and diverse career means we will probably be seeing more of her for years to come.
